Laser Engraving For Veterans Fail

Its only 30 secs....how bad could it be? I'm not sure, the machine is practically brand new. But the Laser Engraving For Veterans that I do to raise funds is DEAD in the water!

I started off creating two test arrays to determine the best settings to use for each portion of the graphic I was going to put on coaster, a three color graphic. They both went well, the machine had absolutely no problems with these.

Now that I had the settings marked for each layer I aligned them and tried to auto-focus the machine, which is the standard process for this maker. That's when the proverbial stuff hit the fan...the noise it makes is very concerning! The laser is completely off on its X & Y axis and thinks its in a different location thus causing the motors to continue to drive it where it mistakenly thinks HOME is located. I've seen this before on another machine but that machine is older and was a used machine. That was a sensor problem and this may be as well...but a sensor failing after doing two test arrays, on a new machine, slightly used, 6-9 months old...very weird. I could have purchased 2 years ago a high end laser machine that had US based maintenance, training, and support but that would have meant spending a minimum of 5x the amount for this machine. Then money wouldn't be available to help Veterans because 95% of the funding comes from our own finances, i.e, enormous impact. Pray for this situation to be resolved, I can't fix it, but God can and will provide a solution.
